So, if it proves to be unstable, can I use the Quick Restore disks that came
with it or are they just for the other PC and the hardware that was on it??

just activate, phone/internet connect to whatever they suggest, but your
xp is NOT stable, imho, but using it for a few days after activation
will tell you if that's true or not
