Which drive do you want as master? The one with WinXPHome on it?
If this is the case you only need to set the second 60GB harddrive as a slave
by checking the hard drive documentation or OEM website and setting the right
jumper to slave and placing the drive on either the Primary IDE cable
channel-select
second grey or black bus connector as a slave or connect it to a secondary IDE
cable
channel as slave.
Then the BIOS should automatically detect and see the secondary harddrive as
slave
cable selected. Check the BIOS setting to make sure that the primary drive is
jumped as
master and is active as a primary boot device.

I have a 60G Seagate hard drive I want to install as a slave on a Compaq
5SPXE1. Both are about 3 or 4 years old. I had another thread going on
activating WinOS, but have decided to go slave. Can anyone suggest a website
to get me started? Both drives have the same configuration on the jumpers
and are right now set the same, as the 60G was also the only drive in
another Compaq. The PC I am putting it into has QuickRestore disks that go
with it, not a single copy of XP Home(if that matters). The 60G drive has
WinXPHome on it also. Both are legitimate OS's. I am getting instructions
from Compaq on how to do this, but is there anything that I need to be aware
of?? They give no clue as to what is going to happen when I reboot. Movely
slowly forward and TIA for any help.
Jim
