Yes, it's an easy upgrade. The WinXP Upgrade CD will do it. It's not
cheap, but it's the lowest price way to do this. (The full retail CD
will also work, but an OEM CD will not upgrade an existing
installation.)
My wife's non-profit organization has purchased a multiple license pack
from Tech Soup and it's very inexpensive.
It's always a good idea to back up anything you don't want to lose
before doing something like this.
You should be aware that there are very few things that Pro does that
Home doesn't also do. Pro can join a domain, in some environments
that's absolutely essential. Pro has some additional security
features that Home does not. Pro supports multiple CPU motherboards,
but Home will handle multi-core and hyperthreading CPUs.
The organization's IT person is Pro-oriented (you may recall other
questions I've asked about this) and Wayne loves it, so because it's
cheap and easy, I'm doing it. :-)
