Mostly what it means is that you will continue to get security patches, but
will find that, like for W2K Pro -  'goodies' such as Windows Defender, and
IE7 no longer include it in the acceptable working environment.

And things like the 2007 version of Symantec Internet Security won't install
on it
(so there's some good in the reduced status)
