The games don't use any fancy stuff (these are little kid games for 2-5
year olds.  No temple of doom stuff.)

Some of the games incorporate a rudimentary copy protection scheme -
basically they check to see if the disk is a cdrom, or if they can write
a file to it.  Sometimes you can break it, sometimes you can't.  I just
want to eliminate the hassle of dealing with CDs and have a reliable way
to do this with every game.

Besides, there are some pretty cool linux-based kid learning games that
are free that I also want to use.

Any idea how I get the image off a CD rom?  I'm not too up on cd-rom
stuff myself.
