Mine says "Microsoft PS/2 port mouse", but the icon has the little
yellow question mark and the description shows the normal Code 24
error that says that the driver isn't properly installed or not
working.
Just looking for some other difference between us, what version of
Windows are you running?
I'm running an AMD 6-K2 500 that's pretty vanilla in configuration.
I'm using Win4lin v2.0 and Windows 98SE. It's also worked with
win4lin v1.0.
