Hi all,

I might as well add my bit since everyone else has . .

I was desperately waiting for the release of W4L 1.0 - I had a NT4 WS
machine that was driving me around the twist with frustration due to its
unreliability. I had checked out vmware and decided it was not viable due
to slowness. Wine was not ready for prime time. So it was with great
happiness that I could finally junk NT and and install Linux as a WS - the
minor disadvantages of running W4L as opposed to a real Win machine were
not worth worrying about.

This Linux machine is a work machine (business) so I am quite prepared to
pay for upgrades of ~AUS$90 every now and then if it means that I don't
have to use Windows - this might be a bit different for a poor student who
has to watch every dollar . .

I will pay for v3.0 as soon as it's available - I am using RH7.0 and will
change to RH7.1 ASAP (I have just started looking at Debian for my home
machine). I used Merge on SCO years ago and will continue to use W4L as
long as I am forced into using some programs that aren't available for
Linux - but sooner or later this will change - so in one sense W4L has a
limited life expectancy for me (I am gradually getting rid of all MS
software from our LAN).

All the things considered, W4L is still a pretty good deal (for me at
least) even with occasional upgrades.

Regards,

Phil.
