i'm not sure what you're suggesting.  can you be more specific?
are you describing a way around the auto-install?

also, does this auto-install also apply to those of us who
purchased 2.0 and are waiting for the upgrade?  that would
really annoy me since, if you buy the boxed set, you can mount
the CD-ROM and poke around first.  if you upgrade via a net-based
auto install, well, you're right back to my original complaint.

this is all based on everyone's (hopefully) heightened sense of
security these days.  i don't want *anyone* dumping stuff onto my
box that i can't examine first, and i don't think that's
unreasonable.
