System config:
Mandrake 8.0, 128mb, AMD K6, HP Deskjet 952C, win4lin
3.0 eval
Cannot install HP driver from cd. Did install driver
for HP Deskjet 870Cse from Win98 cd and it prints a
test page and other jobs okay. Assigned it to
'default' port.
Printing from obsolescent DOS application appears to
work (that is, cursor indicates completion) but it is
not getting to printer. The DOS app appears to run
correctly otherwise.
winsetup admin does not allow printer command
modification.
Tried DOS printer change to 'default-raw'.
Fiddled with the timeouts.
Scoured the mailing lists for discussion since
10/5/2000. Nothing new.
Really like the way this package installs and runs
(far superior to vmware), but pretty useless without
printing from my dying DOS app.
Any solutions?
