O, GREAT JOY!

Used another approach, though.
Never got anything with DOS and 'default' printer.
Did a RTFM and re-RTFM, then installed ecp1 as a
parallel port, installed HP 950C drivers in normal
manner and everything is jake.

Should also be able to install photo quality packages.

Suppose, long term, there is a conflict if a Linux
user and Windows user attempt use the printer, but
this gives me a bridge to parallel the DOS app while
re-building it for Linux.
