  Then everyone else also sees PRO'VRIK instead of PROGRA~1?

  I notice that Linux knows what the command

                   ls /mnt/D/win4lin/progra~1

means.

   Maybe I am using the wrong `mount' command:

mount -t vfat -o rw,exec,umask=002,gid=100,uni_xlate $1 $2
