I checked tonight, and there's now a v3.04 of the installer, and it
doesn't segfault on Mandrake 7.2. Yay! Now I can finally upgrade to v3.
So I patch my 2.4.5 kernel (manually - I don't like patching kernels via
RPM). Patching went successfully - no errors. I choose "Windows
Application Support" in xconfig, and re-compile. Again, no errors.
Reboot, no errors (well, outside of the usual one about Win4Lin failing
to load because of "merge.o")
I run the installer, and it tells me that my Win4Lin is up to date.
Wha? I'm running v2; how can I be up to date?
So I re-run the installer, and tell it to remove Win4Lin this time.
Says the removal was successful.
I then re-run, and tell it to install. It stops at 80%. I have to
cancel.
When I re-run the installer again, hoping to finish, it tells me that
I'm running an obsolete Netraverse-enabled kernel, and to get the latest
patches.
I *AM* running the latest patches.
What's up? Why is the install failing, and how can I re-start it?
