Yes I had the same problem with Mandrake 8 on my laptop, that was the last
straw with Mandrake so I decided to go back to Suse 7.1 which appears to be
much more stable.

Depends. There seems to be a problem with Mandrake 8.0, ReiserFS and
Win4Lin
3.0 that I'm waiting to hear back from support about. Basically it Kernal
Panics on bootup.
The other distributions don't seem to be suffering from this problem.
