We are aware of some problems with the Mandrake 8.0 kernel and reiser. These
kernels are meant to be a drop-in replacement, but are not working as expected,
and our kernel developers are working on the issue. Because of problems with
kernel versioning in the kernels that ship with Red Hat 7.1 and Mandrake 8, our
original kernels for these included the modules. In an attempt to decrease the
kernel size to something less than 1 MB (the with-modules kernels are around
9MB), something got broke in loading the modules.

All of our distribution-specific kernels are built on the distribution's source
code. We also offer pre-patched kernels on our website that are based on
generic kernels. In addition, we offer the patch files for each
distribution-specific kernel we support. These patch files are plain text, and
you can look through them to see what we change in the kernel source. Our
kernel patches are available from our website at:

http://www.netraverse.com/member/downloads/kernel_patch.php

As I said, we are aware of the problems with reiser in the Mandrake 8 kernels
and are working on solving the problem. In the meantime, the best work-around
for this would be to patch your Mandrake source with our Win4Lin patch for it.
The patch can be found at the above website, and there is a link on the site to
instructions on how to apply it.

Regards,
Amanda
