I was successful in patching the 2.4.3-20mdk sources, but the kernel would
compile with warnings and the modules would not compile at all.

The Win4Lin kernel from -03.rpm will kernel panic; the Win4Lin kernel from
-02.rpm will boot and run, but it lacks a reiserfs module and alsa modules
(how'd that happen?). I can boot with the old initrd, but get some error
messages.

I eagerly await -04.rpm (with all the modules).

The fresh install has cleared up the boxes-instead-of-letters problem, but I
have yet to upgrade to the current version of XFree86. 8)

BTW, there's a grammar error in the kernel patch where "it's" (meaning "it
is") is used instead of "its" (the possessive form , which is what is
intended). It doesn't affect the patch, but it doesn't look very professional.
