Lol. If I need to go back I’ll just load up the vm back up I make every month
or so. i have not had to do it yet but so far I’m fine. I wonder in the next
ideation of windows will MS take windows defender off their own install disks,
or how ever it’s loaded in? I guess we’ll see.

There used to be a virus checked I used to use where it said in a voice
“causion, a virus has been dected. I can’t remember if that was AVG or avast
but that was good even on my machine running 512 mb of ram at the time.

Tc and be blessed.

Personally, I have never trusted Microsoft in the area of security. I share
Dane’s view that Vipre and its various suites offer excellent Malware, AV and
online security protection. It is important that people understand the
difference though between Malware and virus. There are areas where the two
paths do cross. But Malware is a piece of code designed to collect
confidential information and transmit that information back to a central server
for malicious processing purposes. A “Virus” is a piece of code which is
designed to negatively impact or even totally disable a computer system. So
protection in both areas, plus the obvious online threats, is essential
nowadays for the Windows user.

Personally, we use the Vipre Business suite because it allows us to deploy
protection across our network of PC’s. Our network includes PC’s over at the
office and here at home. But for most things, the standard Vipre suite would
do just fine. It offers excellent protection and is very affordable.
Personally, I have little sympathy for those users who won’t pay a penny for
anything when things go wrong. Developers have to eat, and so it’s only fair
that we compensate them for their work. Vipre is very reasonably priced,
reliable and accessible. What more could one want? And please, don’t anybody
start bleating about people on low incomes. Come on! If they can afford a
computer system, a broadband Internet connection, then they can afford the few
bucks it takes to support a hard-working team of developers such as those at
Vipre.

I’m sorry if my views offend anybody, but that’s how I see things.

Kind regards

Tha'ts true. Since I am not on my computer but once every 3 or 4 months I
cannot justify the cost. I've always for the past I believe 12 years I've been
using windows used free solutions, avast being the last one Iv'e heard of viper
on the midi mag list and only 1 person uses it. Not sure what the rest use as
the discussions is still going on there. We'll see what steve gipson has to say
and recommend about this.

Tc and be blessed.

Couldn't give a damn, since when has Microsoft been under any obligation to
provide free security tools such as Anti Virus? Microsoft themselves! state
that the anti virus area isn't one of their priorities.

As far as I'm concerned, common sense above all else keeps your computer secure so it
really doesn't matter what Anti Virus solution you choose to use, if you deliberately go
to suspicious web sites after that "Free Piece Of Software" for instance then
you're deliberately putting your computer and data at risk.

I use Vipre Internet Security and no! it doesn't get top reviews from various
magazines however they all do say that its better having security software
installed than not having any running at all!

Vipre is very accessible so that's pretty much the main reason why I bought it,
nothing worse! than trying to have to deal with a piece of software that isn't
accessible.

Yep read it and sad indeed. I will how ever keep using mse and malware bytes
until a better and accessible solution is found. I'm not in windows except for
patch tuesdays anyway, at least for now.

Tc all.
