I have heard from another list that Viper is a completely accessible anti virus suite. It mnay not be the best performing application but if it is completely accessible then it may be a compelling reason to go down this route.
Does anybody on this list use Viper and can confirm the accessibility? I share Dane's view that Vipre and its various suites offer excellent Malware, AV and online security protection. It is important that people understand the difference though between Malware and virus. There are areas where the two paths do cross. But Malware is a piece of code designed to collect confidential information and transmit that information back to a central server for malicious processing purposes. A "Virus" is a piece of code which is designed to negatively impact or even totally disable a computer system. So protection in both areas, plus the obvious online threats, is essential nowadays for the Windows user. >> >> Personally, we use the Vipre Business suite because it allows us to deploy protection across our network of PC's. Our network includes PC's over at the office and here at home. But for most things, the standard Vipre suite would do just fine. It offers excellent protection and is very affordable. Personally, I have little sympathy for those users who won't pay a penny for anything when things go wrong. Developers have to eat, and so it's only fair that we compensate them for their work. Vipre is very reasonably priced, reliable and accessible. What more could one want? And please, don't anybody start bleating about people on low incomes. Come on! If they can afford a computer system, a broadband Internet connection, then they can afford the few bucks it takes to support a hard-working team of developers such as those at Vipre. >> >> I'm sorry if my views offend anybody, but that's how I see things. >> >> Kind regards >> >> <--- Gordon Smith ---> >> >> On 6 Oct 2013, at 22:28, Sarah k Alawami <[email protected]> wrote: >> >>> Tha'ts true. Not sure what the rest use as the discussions is still going on there. We'll see what steve gipson has to say and recommend about this. >>> >>> Tc and be blessed. >>> On Oct 5, 2013, at 5:28 PM, Dane Trethowan <[email protected]> wrote: >>> >>>> Couldn't give a damn, since when has Microsoft been under any obligation to provide free security tools such as Anti Virus?
