Why ???  Almost all games support Opengl and that would give support to almost all 
type of cards .

I would think the bottleneck is to get an OpenGL working under both wine and X 4.0. 
Looks like X will dump direct support for glide : glide will be accessed via opengl. I 
talked to Brian Paul : no support for libglide2x is planned. 

And I think they are right. Why only work for 3Dfx ?
