[Winona Online Democracy]

I'd like to talk about how we can broaden the views discussed. It was
something that came up many times on the survey and in Dr. Schild's
research.

Online or off list, I think it is an issue to address, though I have no idea
how. As a facilitator, I can only deal with slams and personal attacks
after they happen--each member is solely in control of what she/he posts to
the list. I also think that it can be a learning experience for some to
receive feedback from the facilitators or the members. Folks should be
given the opportunity to learn what is permissable (in my opinion) before
being cast out.

Also I think it is important to say that some people have no desire to post,
but really like being a member, enjoy reading what folks have on their
minds, etc. We need to make it clear that that is a totally acceptable way
to belong! (like any of us need one more thing to feel pressure about!)
How do you like the slogan;

POSTING IS DESIRED, BUT NEVER REQUIRED!?

That's all for today. What do others think? Were there things from the
survey which stood out for you all?
