I agree with Glen. It will serve the downtown a lot better to put in nice condos and lofts rather than packing in a ton of college students.

GS comments: I strongly believe that revitalization of downtown hinges more
on upscale residential development than just historical restoration.


A significant number of occupied upper middle and/or upper class
apartments/condos/lofts etc downtown will do more to shore up the retail
base than anything else.
