That's a very good question. In addition I'd like to know how much health care benefits cost for teachers and their families and how much comes out of the teacher's pocket and how much is paid by the district. Would some teachers out there like to respond to this or perhaps a board member or Dr. Bartleson?
I'd even like to see how that compares to what our county and city employees pay for their benefits. This is a huge issue and I'm not sure it's one enough people pay attention to and know the true costs of it.

The Daily News the other day reported that 861's teachers would receive x amount of compensation elevations and x that and this.
Omitted from this article was the actual increase in compensation due to inflation of the cost of basic benefits such as insurance. After including this, what is the real change in pay for the average 861 teacher?
