[Winona Online Democracy] I suppose it's a good thing that some money will be saved by moving city offices into a new "Alf addition" while the main building is worked on. However, I was looking forward to the old Winona Knitting Mills building being leased for that purpose.
My reasoning was that perhaps city staff and elected officials would take note of the work that Pete Woodworth has done to landscape around his building and parking lot. And maybe it would occur to them that more of our downtown and riverfront areas could benefit from similar efforts. Well, now my hopes have been dashed. But today's Daily News tells of a volunteer group that will be helping with a makeover of St. Charles. Is it too much to hope for that the Minnesota Design Team could someday make downtown Winona one of their projects? _______________________________________________ This message was posted to Winona Online Democracy All messages must be signed by the senders actual name.
