[Winona Online Democracy]
Well, even though my passion may be in the
right place, obviously my facts are not. I have it from three sources that
administrative leases can't be levied without legislative approval.
I am told that leased storage space can be levied
for, however. What about the space in the basement of Jefferson...can we
use that for anything besides record and other storage and move that to leased
space? I'm trying to think of any option here, people.
One other point to ponder...it's going to cost $1M
(+/-) to renovate the high school. Wouldnt that money make an awful lot of
lease payments in and of itself?
We can choose what we spend money on...it need not
be new construction. We could choose to spend those dollars to lease space
elsewhere and preserve the high school. I would think a million dollars
would rent office space for ten years.
