We've been running a cisco wireless network for a full academic year now
with 300 1242abg access points running from 4 4404 controllers and 1 wcs
server.
I could take that machine down for a few days, even a week, and it
wouldn't be the end of the world. To us, it really is a control
server. Time permitting, I could be more proactive at using the
information in it's dashboard, but realistically I usually only use it
to make wireless network changes. In all of my priorities, making that
server redundant is a little low. Worst case scenario, I could make all
my changes at the controllers.

We are just starting to deploy a WCS. No backup currently planned.
We will more than likey move in that direction once our new wireless
network is stable.

*Subject:* [WIRELESS-LAN] Cisco WCS- sparing/clustering
With a rapidly growing wireless environment, WCS is getting to be more
critical. Wondering what others may be doing to provide fault
tolerance, backup, and/or failover for WCS server.
