Tim,

We provide one AP per 25 seats in the classroom. However
these are 802.11a access points. We turn on one "G" radio
per classroom for the laptops that will not support "A".
When hammering out our wireless deployment strategies
our faculty and staff agreed to 802.11b/g for general coverage
and 802.11A for "instructional" use. This allowed us to
"guarantee" (as best as you can) appropriate throughput
in the classroom.

I am working to develop a rule of thumb number of seats per classroom WAP for our institution. I realize that it is a highly variable ratio depending on what type of applications are being run, size of room, etc. I'm considering 1 WAP per 25- 50 seats. Does anyone have a number they use for a starting point?
Thanks,
