Also... the number of supported users can vary with these repeater-style devices. Some are more geared towards the home, and even those with potential use in bigger buildings have a simultaneous-user cap of not-too-many. Read the fine print!

I should point out, however, that such devices aren't necessarily "quick & dirty," as they require (at least in the case of the Samsung product marketed by VZW) GPS reception for E911 geolocation and time base. As such, the same phenomenon that attenuates the cellular coverage (e.g. below ground, "heavy" building construction, etc.) also blocks the GPS reception, so you're right back to where you started.
