Sorry to be slow with this response - I have been out of the office for a 
couple of weeks.

We have moved to wired AppleTVs with an AP located close by that runs a special 
SSID that put the user in the same subnet as the wired AppleTV. Power is kept 
low on the APs and they are usually located in the podiums for a classroom or 
in a credenza for a conference room (or on the wall behind a large TV monitor). 
This has worked for us *much* better that uwing wireless AppleTV connections.
