I think we've all had our share of pains with these various vendors. I think I've had the worst time with Android. Most recently, we've discovered that Android only allows one CA chain to be selected at any time to verify radius server certificates, so the migration plan from godaddy to a private CA isn't going to happen, despite the fact that we've been installing the private CA cert chain on android devices (through cloudpath), in anticipation of this, for over a year. Android installs all the CAs, but can only select one CA to verify. No dice for us, as we don't want people to have to go in and manually change their radius CA verification chain if we switch from godaddy to a private CA.... this is one of many problems we've had with android.
Anyway, back to the point. Does anyone know if Educause has a technical group that meets with these vendors to discuss the pain points? It seems like having a high level meeting once or twice a year, with representatives from those companies and some technical leads from higher ed, would be a huge benefit. What do others think?
