Why not use a Wi-Fi usb adapter? I just tested the EDIMAX AC600 Wi-Fi USB adapter model EW-7811UTC is a dual band (2.4/5) and supports 802.11AC for under 425 and seems to work great. Has support for both Windows and MacOS drivers.
