Headline Details: The ESA sponsored, SSETI ESEO mission, is planned for a 7 degree inclination GTO with a launch from Kourou in late 2008. A 120kg satellite of similar construction to SSETI Express, it will employ deployable solar arrays and incorporate cold gas jets for attitude control. In addition to an S band communications system using non amateur frequencies around 2.1 and 2.2GHz, there will be an amateur satellite service U/S linear transponder which will incorporate both analogue and digital(STELLA) systems .Output power will be approx 9 watts. As it is not expected that the satellite can be maintained in an earth pointing mode for more than a few weeks, omni-directional antennas will be employed. The inverting linear transponder will have an output on 2400.050-2400.150MHz and input between 435.950 –435.850 MHz. A 400bps BPSK telemetry beacon will be avauilable on 2400.100 or 2400.150MHz depending on which transponder chain is in use. This equipment is being provided by a group of AMSAT-UK members.
