Hi, I don't think that this question has really been asked before, but is there any mom&pop (small business) doing wireless service to the end users?? I know a number of people who run wireless service read this list, but as I recall most are doing from a central office to node points via roof antennas. Anyone doing service to end users with just normal wifi cards like the boingo/sputnik idea but actually covering a given area?
I'm asking to see if it's a viable business option, the area were I live has a small downtown core, with lots of patio and restaurants. Renting space in a few buildings or roofs and you could easily cover the area... after that it's just a matter of getting clients.. build it and they will come.. :) I did start an ISP back in 94 in the same area, we were the 2nd provider into the area, and it could have gone well but my partner was a moron and i was forced out. Looking for another good opportunity.. -b -- Reality.sys corrupted. Reboot universe?
