I hate to sound older than I am; but as a farm kid from oil country this discussion makes me wonder how my kit 'n kin ever lived to see adulthood.
I have fond memories of watching them set sumps on fire, being thrown from horses, bitten by dogs and falling out of trees. Or chemistry sets and classes had all kinds of lethal chemicals and all the essential ingredients for nitro glyseron. Then there was the rat poison, ddt and of course the loaded guns (cause if you really needed it you weren't going to have time to load it). Being in farming and oil country dynamite was plentiful. When people would bring up the dangers of lead my father would point out that grandfather had been a marshal and had been shot seven times, they never did get two of the slugs out and lived to be 76. Common get a grip. If humans were this frail we never would have lasted through the stone age. Live a little.
