As I said, I wish they'd impose a tax on TX amps... I'm not 100% sure
in the US, but it's not legal to output more then 1W of TX from
radio's here, which means at most 6 dBi of gain from the antenna...

At my previous residence I was getting up to -70dBm of noise from a
commercial installation I was at least 3km away from... and I was
using a 180 degree sector pointed the other way to try and avoid
them...
