Hi, I have playing with wireless 2.4GHz equipment
for about a year, This is only at home. I have 1 Orinoco gold and a dell 1150
access point.
The company I work for is considering getting a
2mbit leased line to another building (1.6 miles away).
There is a line of site and we already have a
fixing pole on our roof.
I have some questions that I hope someone on this
list might be able to answer.
Routing, Our network is on the 192.168.9.0 range
with a De-militarized zone of 10.0.0.0
I plan to plug the wireless bridge into the DMZ as
this is where the FTP Server is (Primary reason for connection). But I am unsure
what the TCP/ip range is on the other side. So basically do wireless bridges
have to have the same IP range on both sides
Can anyone recommend a certain wireless
bridge??
I am in the UK, I have to find out if there is any
laws about the antenna etc etc, does anyone know what the regs are?
54 mbit, I have seen the buffalo 54mbit 2.4GHz
cards, do these work well over ranges of 1.6 miles??
Thanks all for any help you can
provide.
Regards
Richy
