I am in the process of doing background research for a 25 mile link that i want to build between my home, and my place of work. My job has a 350ft tall tower (I can place my gear at 200ft, possibly higher) and my home will eventually have a 40-foot triangular (climable) tower. I was thinking about putting soekris boxes on both sides, and using the wonderful 200mW cards with 24dBi gain parabolic antennas. Now for my question: Will the 200mW cards and the 24dBi gain antennas be sufficant? If so, what speed link could I achive? Could this link be done withing FCC specs for the band?
I know that there are programs out there (radio mobile) that can be used for link calculations; I just wanted to get a real world answer from people who have built and designed this type of link in the past.
