I have a question that might seem silly but I am a little confused and need to make a decission soon.
I am in the process of buying an access point to connect to my 512K cablemodem. I used to have a Proxim Synphony HRF gateway which did not reach most of the areas of my house. Now that I am migrating to 802.11 I hope I will have a stronger penetration.
The 2 questions I have are:
1) to make sure I take advantage of all the bandwith of my cablemodem do I have to go into 802.11g or just B will do?
2) having answered the above, what is the access point that provides the best performance indoors (which brand and model)?
I have checked on many sites that offer reviews but they concentrate too much on support, ease of use and my focus is to have a strong access point. I don't care if I spend a few extra bucks for it but I don't want to spend on innecessary MBPS (that is going to G) if this is not necessary for a 512k.
Thanks guys Pablo Casaux Buenos Aires Argentina
