So far, no luck making Eudora work.
FYI, what I do with Eudora is have it send email via the *POP* server (rather than via a SMTP server). See, for example, <http://www.panix.com/panix/help/mail.xtnd.html> for instructions on how to do this. (Also, entering "eudora UsePOPSend" into Google gives you some more links.)
As I also run my POP connection over a SSH connection, this also gives me a single encrypted tunnel for both sending and receiving email, no matter where I am.
