Well, I work for/co-own an ISP based out of Santa Clara and I'm not familiar
with a WISP operating in the area. The only WISP that may cover this area
that I can think of is Gate Speed. We've toyed with the idea but the
biggest problem is the lack of tall buildings and hills combined with the
spread of the city. There are a few tallish structures like the dorms at
USC and the Central computer building and a few communications and water
towers that dot the landscape but nothing that would be worth it as far as
covering a huge area.

With all this combined with the fact that running a WISP is a support
head ache we chose not to offer wireless service. It was outside the focus
of our core business anyway.
