I don't know about double the throughput. The WSB24 is an amp and does
little more than amp the signal. Between the two products, BEFW11S4 and
WAP11, there are about 8 different versions and 7 or 8 different hardware
configurations inside those little blue boxes. Also, the WSB24 is not FCC
certified to work with any product other than the original versions of the
BEFW11S4 and WAP11. In fact the WSB24 will not amp a signal from a BEFW11S4
because the TX is already about 80mW. The WSB24 will only amp a weak
signal, like those from the original Linksys wireless suite.
I do know that the firmware that allows for the repeater function only works
with v2.6 of the WAP11, but will NOT work with all the other versions.
