As I said in my post, the system was working perfectly before the download of the XP home edition update. All settings were correct. On the re-install I tripled check all settings, even the power setting hidden in the device manager that is not available in the network setup box. I have setup many subscribers to date. I emphatically state that the Windows XP Home Edition update caused the problem and it was not repairable by the restore system utility. I made sure the USB dongle was not attached during the restore. I shall try using an alternate connection manager, thanks for the suggestion. Regards, Gerard J.
