Have you verified that all the settings were correct on XP? for example: Network device settings for TCP/IP, the WEP key, SSID. Might make sure it's
not messed up in the device settings - ie. power saving isn't turning it
off or something stupid.
As I said in my post, the system was working perfectly before the download
of the XP home edition update. All settings were correct. On the
re-install I tripled check all settings, even the power setting hidden in
the device manager that is not available in the network setup box. I have
setup many subscribers to date. I emphatically state that the Windows XP
Home Edition update caused the problem and it was not repairable by the
restore system utility. I made sure the USB dongle was not attached during
the restore.
I shall try using an alternate connection manager, thanks for the suggestion.
