People often find what they're looking for by searching Google and 
getting BAWUG posts as their answers (OK, at least I do). I think the 
moral here is not to use very private email addresses on very public 
mailing lists. ;)

Unfortunately pipermail doesn't cleanse posts of email addresses like
mail-archive.com does.
At the very least can the wwwadmin create a robots.txt with the following in
it:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /pipermail/
