David:

I said it was a subjective list; your mileage may vary.

My statement was factual - I won't KNOWINGLY list systems that aren't FCC certified, but I'll admit that I did not exhaustively check the FCC database to verify each and every product that a vendor lists for sale has a corresponding FCC certification, nor did I do the minimal work that you did in trying to match up vendor names with certifications. It's a SIMPLE list, available free for public use to see just how MANY vendors there are out there making gear for Broadband Wireless Internet Access... it's nothing resembling a research report. (And, for the record, the more detailed report that's mentioned doesn't yet exist. If there is significant, lucrative interest in such a report, I may well generate one, but for now, this is just a simple list of vendors that are (apparently) still in business, making gear for Broadband Wireless Internet Access.

As to your claims,

Aruba Networks is well-established, so I'm not going to sweat that one.
Avantry was deleted from the list.
Cambridge Broadband is also well-established.
I'll give Deliberant the benefit of the doubt.
Eion Wireless assumed the product line of the late Wi-LAN, so it's not surprising that there are no certs yet under their name.

I'll remove GIL Technology and Qorvus and ask for clarification if their systems are certified.

Thanks,

Steve

Steve, dude... I figure these are advertisers to your blog/ newsletter and as such should have come with a disclaimer. Your claim of " Please note that
I'm deliberately not listing vendors who only sell
sub-systems such as antennas, radio cards, etc. - only full-blown
radio systems suitable for outdoor use. An additional caveat is that
I won't knowingly list systems that are not FCC certified." is patently untrue as you will notice below. I have added my comments on the vendors I know personally. You have placed yourself as an industry leader for some time now. I would have expected that you would not adopt a "don't ask, don't tell" mentality to your claim of "knowing" something. I only say this as it only took some personal knowledge of the industry and one hour of my
time to discover the flaws in your claim.

Patrick, as an "Industry Leader", I would expect that you would not just accept anything as "fact" without researching the claim first. There are a
lot of people who accept what you say as fact.

While this information is not 100% accurate as the FCC has a lot of work submitted to them every day. I am merely suggesting that the statements of the "Industry Leaders" should be viewed with the traditional skepticism that
should accompany statements from a vendor/vendor-subsidized source.

Don't forget to read below the ______ line. I have pasted my search results

I only list them as they only have recently started to "reclassify" RTL-8186 wireless OEM modules. They have sold many radios "illegal" as this list has classified them. If you look at their recent certs you will find that they do not manufacture radios but have re-certified them in order to please
forums such as this. They have been a homebrewer turned
integrator/assembly house since they started.

See if their certs match their output power:
