Travis: Isn't the other factor also that you have to
buy some brands in "100 bundle pack/500 bundle " and
therefore it is not as simple as just "replace with
new because its cheaper than repairing"??  

Regarding unrepairable Atlas and Fox, I think you can
get some money at electronic recycler in your areas. 
We have several programs here in Silicon Valley.
