What is the best way to provide speed limit per clients where they are not all MT clients?
I would like to have something setup where every connected client gets so much bandwidth. I would like something that is automated nothing that has to be done every time. I know you can do this with hotspot, but this is not for hotspot function. -Cameron -----Original Message----- From: wireless-boun...@wispa.org [mailto:wireless-boun...@wispa.org] On Behalf Of Butch Evans Sent: Friday, April 24, 2009 3:13 PM To: WISPA General List Subject: Re: [WISPA] Mikrotik question On Fri, 2009-04-24 at 12:22 -0400, Cameron Kilton wrote: > I was playing around on one of our wireless interfaces and couldn't help > but notice the options in the wireless tab for: > > Default AP Tx Rate: > And > Default Client TX Rate: These 2 options set default rates for how much bandwidth is allocated to a station for upload (client tx) and download (ap tx). It is a layer 2 bandwidth limiter that really only works with other MT devices. Actually, the AP tx rate works with any device, but the client tx does not work with all other devices out there. -- ******************************************************************** * Butch Evans * Professional Network Consultation* * http://www.butchevans.com/ * Network Engineering * * http://www.wispa.org/ * WISPA Board Member * * http://blog.butchevans.com/ * Wired or Wireless Networks * ******************************************************************** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------- WISPA Wants You!
