Actually Michael, it does not counter your field result. I worked at
Alvarion for ten years, including launching the radio you are testing
with so I know more than a little about it, but poster's comment. The
poster was referencing self-install indoor modem, but you are testing
with an outdoor CPE. You will not get likely 1/4 mile with a
self-install CPE in 3.65 GHz from Alvarion (even if it sold one) and it
has nothing to do with MIMO or beamforming. It has everything to do with
power -- at least when Alvarion first tried to certify the indoor modem
the FCC still considered it a mobile device, thus subject to the greatly
reduced power of a mobile device in 3.65 relative to a fixed outdoor
CPE.

Patrick works for Aperto, they don't support beamshaping/mimo or
802.16e, my Alvarion and Navini gear with the non-mimo subscriber radio
(mimo on the tower) worked at a mile non-LOS. I appreciate the input,
but it disputes my results in the field (rural heavily treed, not
urban).
