True. But it doesn't take much. We have a bunch of P4 2.4GHz/1GB RAM machines that are "old" by todays standards, but run Asterisk just fine with never more than about 10% CPU load during peak hours. As long as you don't transcode, you could even run it on a Linksys WRT54G router with Linux flashed.
