Yes. Mine is grounded with 2-ought copper wire running down each leg,
bonded to a ring of ground rods (probably 15 total) circling the tower.

Is the thing in my picture the "static dissipator" you're referring to?
I don't think mine is very well grounded at all. I'll have to
investigate that. I would love to put one of these up on every tower, ground
it and never have problems again!!!

The static dissipators need to be taller than the antennas, and VERY
well grounded. They will provide a cone of protection around the equipment
under them. I know of a radio station building that took a hit about every
year. He installed these and has not been hit since, around 10 years. I have
some from Alltec on my tower and have not had a hit.
