This is not entirely true, or is misleading at best. Musicians are often paid percentages based on sales of CDs. Actors are often paid based on sales levels. Producers of both music and video entertainment are paid the same way. I am not speaking out of "what I've heard". However, the only difference between stealing a car and stealing music is that when you steal a car, you are taking something that has been paid for by the owner and is a chance for profit when it sells.
