Keep in mind that Authorize.net is not a processor. They’re a gateway. If
you sign with them directly they put you with a processor and get
residuals. The processor is usually Flagship (ugh) but I’ve seen others.
You can continue to use Authorize.net as your gateway with almost any
processor. We also switched from another processor to IPpay a few years
ago. They have been great. Support is a live person on the first call. The
account reps are equally responsive. We still have authorize.net connected
with IPpay due to some of our software requiring it. But all of the actual
processing and funding goes through IPpay. Agreed with Bruce. All customer
notifications should come from your billing system.

Keep in mind that you’re saying that a car and a house should do the same
thing. Merchant Processors (IPpay, Flagship, Priority Payments, First Data,
etc) are different than payment gateways (Authorize.net, Stripe, Clover,
etc). It makes it more complicated when your processor also provides
gateway services. But most do not. If you need a contact at IPpay I’d be
happy to share mine. We refer our new resellers to IPpay all the time and
have never been disappointed.

We changed over from authorize .net to IPPAY 8 months ago. In comparison,
we are charged approximately half of what we were in the past. Plus, the
monthly statements for our expenses are easier to understand from IPPPAY.

Sending receipts to customers is not the job of a processor. It should be
your billing system. Should be able to look up all past transactions that
are successful or not from within billing system. Who sends a copy of a
failed authorization? The processor or the billing system? Plus the fees at
authorize.net are much more expensive.

That's the responsibility of whatever is feeding data to Authorize.Net\IP

If you haven’t heard of that, Mike, then you haven’t used Authorize.net.

It IS IP Pay’s responsibility to listen to the customer’s needs. If they
want to stand out, then they will also adjust to and meet those needs. They
should at LEAST provide a similar level of service to Authorize.net. Like I
said, we are small and things like that help a LOT!

Otherwise the customer leaves. Maybe one day they will understand that
they need to be flexible. And it looks like I am not the only one with
similar views.

It's not IP Pay's responsibility to do that. That's WiFiRush's
responsibility. I've never heard of the credit card processor being
involved at that level.

I will tell you my issue with IP Pay.

We aren’t large. Our network runs like a giant Hotspot and most customers
pay monthly when their time runs out.. Our billing solution(WiFiRush) uses
Authorize.net. Authorize.net sends a payment receipt with transaction
number, etc. to the Email address the customer provides. I also receive a
copy, which is automatically sent to a folder that is only used in case
there is a catastrophic failure of something and all billing records get
lost.

IP Pay is inflexible and refuses to do that. They want my system to send
the receipt to the customer, which it does not. They also say that I must
manually look up records of any past transactions in their web site. This
is cumbersome and (for me) it is much easier to search for the customer
name in my backup receipts that were Emailed. I seldom need them but it is
good to know they are there.

I once almost started using them but this issue stopped the show.
Unfortunately they started billing me a monthly fee even though I never
officially started using them and never processed any transactions at all.
It was a lot of difficulty to make them stop charging me.

If they would simply send the receipts, like Authorize.net does, I would
probably switch to them since they are supposedly “ISP Friendly”. I can’t
believe this is not an option of theirs!

Stripe absolutely is more expensive.

Lower cost on the CC processing, also, our current system is built on that
with tokens, so it would avoid us having to collect credit card information
from all of the customers again. The first point being more important than
the second.
